Trapped Between Two Worlds — Episode One

Written By Jed The Creator

Sophia dragged herself home after a long, exhausting day at work. Her feet ached in her heels, her blouse clung to her with sweat, and her head spun with the constant stress of bills and deadlines. All she wanted was to open the door, drop her bag, and collapse on her bed.

But the moment she reached the apartment, her heart skipped.

The door was locked… from the inside.

Sophia froze. She was certain she hadn’t locked it that morning when she left in a rush. She placed her hand on the handle and twisted it again. Locked.

Her stomach churned.

She knocked once. Twice. Then over and over.

Thirty minutes passed. Nobody answered.

Just when she was about to give up and go crash at a neighbor’s, the door creaked open.

Standing there was a man she had never seen before—broad chest, shirtless, his skin glistening with sweat. His lips curled into an arrogant smile.

“Who are you?” Sophia demanded, her eyes narrowing.

“My name’s Daniel. I’m Emily’s boyfriend,” he replied lazily, stepping aside to let her in.

Emily. Her roommate.

Sophia walked inside cautiously, her nose instantly picking up a smell that made her chest tighten. The air reeked of sweat, perfume, and something more. She knew exactly what had just happened.

Minutes later, Emily strolled out of the bedroom, her hair messy, her face glowing.

“Oh babe, you’re back already?” she said cheerfully.

“Yeah, I’m back,” Sophia muttered, dropping her bag on the chair.

“You must have met Daniel.”

“The guy in the living room?”

“Yes,” Emily said proudly. “He just came into town. But don’t worry, he’ll leave tomorrow.”

Sophia bit her lip and forced a smile. What right did she even have to complain? She was squatting in Emily’s apartment. Still, something inside her twisted.

That night, Emily insisted all three of them sleep on the same bed. At first, Sophia refused. The idea disgusted her. But Emily brushed it off.

“The bed is big enough. Don’t be dramatic.”

Eventually, Sophia gave in.

But deep in the night, she felt Daniel’s hand sliding across her waist, creeping lower, touching where he had no right to touch.

Her eyes flew open. Rage exploded inside her. She slapped him hard across the face.

“Are you insane?!” she screamed.

Emily sat up, startled. “What is it?”

“Your boyfriend tried to touch me!” Sophia shouted.

Emily rolled her eyes. “Is that why you woke me up? You’re such a baby. I was even thinking maybe we could try a threesome.”

Sophia froze. Her heart sank. Her own best friend. Saying this?

She couldn’t sleep another second in that room. She grabbed her pillow and stormed to the couch in the living room. But even there, she couldn’t sleep. She lay wide-eyed until morning, her chest burning with anger and humiliation.

As dawn broke, one thought haunted her: She had to leave this house. But how? With her boss already deducting part of her salary, she could barely feed herself. Where would she find the money for rent?

That morning, she dragged herself to work, exhausted. But fate wasn’t done with her.

Just before she could settle at her desk, the CEO himself walked in. His eyes locked on her.

“You. Come to my office,” he ordered.

Sophia’s heart raced. She followed him nervously.

Inside, his words stunned her.

“Get ready tonight. You’ll be accompanying me for a dinner.”

Sophia blinked, unsure she had heard him right.

“Sir?” she asked softly.

“You heard me,” he replied coldly. “Dinner. Tonight.”

Her world was about to spiral in a way she never imagined.

❓If you were Sophia, would you trust the CEO’s sudden interest, or would you sense danger behind his words?

Don’t forget to share this story so others can follow Sophia’s journey.
